Rodney and Crystal Jerabek started with the goal of decorating a room for the new addition to their family. Having renovated their new home in Southern California, they were looking for their daughter Charley's room to be an extension of the efforts they had made in the rest of their home. Modern, yet classic, lines, textures, lighting and furniture make up their living spaces. Consumed with fashion, design, and style... they simply couldn't bring themselves to hang the typical artwork offered for today's kids.

"You could see directly into her room from the rest of our open concept home. We simply weren't going to hang purple dinosaurs, little red monsters, or princesses on her walls. That's what was out there and it just wasn't us", says Rodney.

So Rodney decided to create, print, and stretch his own artwork. Taut was born. Rodney and Crystal felt it was important to combine modern design with words or values they wanted to teach their daughter Charley.

Rodney later refined the direction of Taut Canvas and started with the first of many series to come... The Core Value Series.
